Civility is always a sign of maturity. Good manners are mature manners. Yet maturity is not necessarily indicated by the age of a person.  Indeed, parliamentarians, in particular, are rarely mature enough, regardless of how many years they have possessed electoral success. Is the relatively mature tradition of the Westminster system meant to be mainly about the continuity of processes? How carefully do you distinguish between psychological maturity and organisational seniority ? There is a considerable difference between psychological maturity and mental health.

Do not blame the Young Liberals for an obnoxious culture long upheld by over-indulged narcissists. Blame old Liberals, especially John Winston Howard, for stealing public money to indoctrinate children into elitist evil. When, if ever, have you examined standards of civility in relation to editing ? How do you tell when a standard is entirely absent and it is up to comedians to provide one ? How do you know when a statement of ministerial standards is disregarded in practice? What do you know about standards of integrity ?  When an aggressive male prime minister objectifies his own wife by treating her as the main symbol of his self-proclaimed integrity and empathy, the evidence indicates his character is otherwise.

The Constitution of Australia is not serving the public interest.  If it was working adequately, there would be no corruption in Australian politics.
