Understanding

Do you regard understanding as an expression of civility?

If so, what do you understand about culture in relation to civility and incivility, and how do you know it?

What do you nurture, and why?

What do you understand about the law, and how?

Are you sure you understand enough about the eternal laws of the Universe?

Only unreasonable people ignore the laws of nature.

Only unreasonable people are bullies.

How do you attempt to prevent misunderstandings?

None of the domineering political parties understand the public interest or the basis of good public policy or the reasonable purposes of public revenue and public expenditure.

How does the science of civility inform your understanding of history, geography and ecology?

How, if at all, is it possible to understand the science of civility without empathy?

How do you usually invest your time, and why?

How have you been investing in the continuity of well-informed, intelligent expressions of kindness over the past week, month, year and decade?

Such kindness always contributes to peace in the world.

When have you most recently interviewed yourself through Civility Today, and why?

Perhaps you are doing so now.

What do you usually seek to know through interviews, whether as an interviewer or interviewee or as an observer of the interview process?

What are your goals in terms of understanding your own motives?

What are your goals in terms of understanding other people's motives?

How do you attempt to communicate your reasoning, and your understanding, particularly in relation to necessary improvements

How are you attempting to make the world a much better place than it would be without you if not by improving your understanding of your own needs?

What is your understanding of truth, civility and integrity in relation to democracy, freedom, trust and kindness?

How do you think about, and express, understanding through language?

Please demonstrate civility today in accordance with your understanding of enlightenment and your duties in relation to it.

What do you understand about any law as developed by politicians?

What do you understand about energy transformation and the law of the conservation of energy?

What do you understand about laws relating to authentic philanthropy?

How does your understanding of science and history influence the way you choose to live, work and communicate?

How do you prefer campaigning for the truth to be known and shared?

An enlightened political activist will politely point out the gap between a current policy stance and the facts of the matter.  Such an activist will understand the facts, be thoroughly familiar with the evidence.

Enlightened political activists, all over the world, are willing and able to answer reasonable questions about the facts, politely and with clarity, especially facts about inadequate policies.

But who is willing and able to ask reasonable questions when necessary?

And who is failing to do so?

Enlightened political activism highlights political hypocrisy and therefore highlights the absence of enlightened statecraft.

How thoughtfully have you been investing in understanding over your lifetime, and how do you know?

While you may value particular knowledge at a particular moment, if it is relevant and/or interesting from your own point of view, you may or may not be able to understand and/or use that knowledge particularly well without expert assistance.

You may not, for example, have a suitably adequate contextual understanding of the history associated with the knowledge you have acquired.

Without that historical information and contextual appreciation, your decisions are unlikely to be particularly well informed.

Indeed, most of the disastrous decisions made throughout history have been a consequence of such ignorance.

What has your understanding of history taught you about national, international and interpersonal brutality?

How are you involved in properly understanding distress?

How are you involved in reporting distress appropriately?

What is your understanding of physical and psychological trauma?

How do comparisons help or hinder your attempts to understand needs and circumstances?

Cross-cultural understandings of rules of etiquette are often associated with intercultural competence, but what do you do when a cultural expectation is incompatible with your sense of morality

What do you understand about well-informed kindness and well-informed investing?

Through the science of civility, the experience of disability can be appropriately understood and respected.

What is your understanding of respect

What is your understanding of science?

How does your intellect contribute to peace and justice?

What do you know about various diversions from the truth?

What is your current approach towards understanding controversy and its sources?

What do you know about reading for understanding, and how do you know it?

How do you attempt to identify and understand a sentiment?

How, if at all, are you investing in a gentle philosophy in support of deeper understandings?

Many charlatans pretend to understand economics and economies.  They may even pretend to understand laws and legal systems.  They rarely claim to know much about science or culture.

What is your understanding of economics, and how did you acquire it?

Mutual understanding and appreciation, and sometimes even affection, can be found in many locations, in many forms.

How do you show your appreciation towards civility itself?

How do you show appreciation towards your most pleasant experiences of life?

What do you most appreciate, and why?

Where have you most recently been investing in the harmonious interplay of beauty, understanding and magnificence

What, if anything, have you already contributed to civility today and Civility Today?

Perhaps you do not have the time to answer the questions here particularly well.

If you do, how will you show it?

How have you already attempted to do so?

The public interest is the essence of good faith.

What do you understand about investing in good faith?

How have you been acquiring knowledge of appropriate and inappropriate conduct over the past twelve years?

Perhaps you are not yet twelve years of age.

Perhaps you are over that age but your understanding of politics and climate science is not as advanced as the average twelve-year-old school student.

Some of the most important tasks for any real leader, every day, include answering the above questions authentically.

Perhaps you regard investing in a healthy imagination to be the only way to understand history accurately.

But how do you attempt to understand the future?

You are currently experiencing the first level of access to Civility Today and the second level of access to Frugality Cottage.

You are not expected to display deference in relation to your access to Civility Today and/or Frugality Cottage.  You are expected to display gratitude.

Why are you investing time in reading the questions and statements presented in this public level of Civility Today?

How much time do you devote each day to answering such an important question?

What do you understand about civility?

What do you understand about politics?

The actions of the judiciary, politicians, public servants, and other people in positions of power, have developed the structure of societal norms into their current form.

How have you most recently been investing in the quality analysis of events, and for what reasons?

How do you assess the ethics of all research you propose to conduct?

What have been your experiences when examining secondary sources and when conducting secondary research?

How will you be investing in social research over the next few weeks, and why?

How elegant has your social research been in the past?

How elegant are you considered to be, and by whom?

What do you know about elegance in relation to understanding?

What sort of training have you received to assist the deepening of your understanding of needs, circumstances and elegance?

For how long have you been investing in the delights of adequately ethical compatibility, and how do you know?

If you are interested in investing in trustworthy collaborations with anyone in this digital vicinity, what are your reasons for doing so?

Most members of the public do not understand political pleasantness particularly well.

What do you understand about investing in better governments, and how did you acquire that understanding?

How, if at all, have you been investing in the Adelaidezone over the past twelve years or so?

The equation used within the Adelaidezone for assessing the relativity of enlightenment is:

E = MCQ

Whether you consider yourself to be relatively enlightened and possibly even relatively wealthy, or neither as the case may statistically be, understanding that equation is very important if you are seeking to make fruitful investments rather than frightful ones.

E = Enlightenment

MCQ therefore equals Enlightenment, too.

Q in the above equation stands for Quadrangle, even for persons unable to stand up in any location.

M stands for Magnificent.

C stands for Caring.

How do you believe journalists should attempt to improve their own understanding of needs, circumstances and elegance?

Whether you regard yourself as a journalist or not, how are you involved in understanding politics and helping to improve it

What is your understanding of quality journalism?

How, if at all, are you investing in quality journalism, and where, and why?

Perhaps you have been practicing meaningful reporting in relation to climate problems, and possibly even climate solutions.

What do you know about editing as an investment, and as a decision-making process?

How do you know when a writer and an editor are compatible with one another?

How do you know when a writer and reader are compatible with one another?

All good investments involve investments of time.

All good decisions involve investments of time.

Good advice contributes to good decisions.

Consistently good advisors are therefore trustworthy for as long as their advice is good.

What do you understand about Twaklin, and how did you acquire that understanding?

Twaklin is known to be a pseudonymous, digitally invisible cultural leader whose societal presence is directly and indirectly manifested online through texts and avatars, but never through advertising or Advertisers.

How well do you understand the Spirit of Enlightenment, and how do you know?

With the help of the Twaklin Trust, Civility Today encourages the process of understanding, including self understanding.

If you are an Australian citizen, or you have the intention of becoming one, how, and where, have you been exploring possibilities for the future, and why?

The next federal election could happen quite soon.

Perhaps you regard elections as diversions.

Very few Australians, in any environmental or epidemiological circumstance, understand the causes and consequences of political controversies, or even a political landslide, particularly well.

What do you know about international attitudes towards relatively recent Australian politics and an apparently current prime minister of Australia

Although the Turnbull coup of 2015 was a relief to many well-informed Australians, rather than a shock, its main consequence was public dismay at the interpersonal brutality so frequently perpetrated through Australian politics at a national level in the 21st century.

Yet the brutality of international politics in 2021 must be accurately understood by as many people as possible, as quickly as possible.

You may have looked at various points of view, at various times, in order to acquire a mature understanding of the Australian constitutional crisis of 1975.

What is your current acquaintance with appropriation bills and loss of supply?

How have you most recently been investing in improving political practices?

Perhaps you have been doing so through satire.

Perhaps you have been doing so by campaigning for political reforms.

What do you know about civility and campaigning in relation to the process of funding?

Understanding funding in a very important accomplishment.

With so much aggression in the world, and so much ignorance about needs and rights and choices, misguided people frequently make potentially dangerous decisions, and sometimes even disastrous ones.

Many people also make the mistake, particularly in relation to real estate, of thinking that the value of a dwelling is contained within the structure itself.

Yet only the land upon which a structure is built has long-term value in financial terms.

That value remains only for as long as the environment itself is stable, both physically and politically.

By all means throw your money, and/or any money you have temporarily obtained from a financial institution, into a few rooms with a roof, if you are prepared to fight wildfires and other environmental dangers and address corruptly inconsistent local planning decisions and question inappropriate neighbourhood development practices and hold rude neighbours to account and investigate the possibility that your government will spend considerable public funds on ruining your peace and quiet with military activities, noisy entertainment facilities, intrusive sporting events, and/or a nuclear waste dump.

What is your understanding of the platonic?

What do you understand about the work of Plato?

Far too many people fail to learn how to overcome the hedonism, hubris, gullibility and narcissism of their own, most usual decisions.  Such people may not even acknowledge the necessity to improve themselves.  They are therefore utterly useless as leaders.  They are entirely untrustworthy.

There are always stupid government decisions preventing good investment decisions from being made, too.

Political risks must always be considered very carefully indeed.

Too many people would much rather drown their sorrows through self-indulgence and self-pity than address problems through good decisions and practical action.

Too many people are cowards in the face of problems, including political problems.

You may be aware that real kindness and real enjoyment and real freedom require no incentives

But what motivates real evil?

Do you have any ulterior motives you are aware of possessing?

No truly enlightened person or entity is corrupt.

What do you understand about spirituality?

Regardless of your current attitudes towards the secular and the spiritual, how do you attempt to become better aware of your rationalisation of irrational thoughts, feelings, beliefs, decisions, actions and impulses?

What, if anything, is contradictory about you?

Perhaps you are often incompatible with yourself.

How, if at all, do you prefer to show your appreciation of enlightenment

Perhaps you regard the Adelaide Adagia courtesy experts as satirical contributors to public life in Australia and the world more generally.

That is understandable, especially if you have never made the acquaintance of a courtesy expert before.

What do you most appreciate when exploring history, politics and economics?

Why do you explore history, politics and economics?

Do you do so to gain a deeper appreciation of past expectations of privacy, secrecy, civility, peace and understanding?

What are your expectations when investing in enlightened philanthropy?

How do you assess enlightenment?

How do you identify the people likely to oppose your generosity?

Perhaps you do not usually expect opposition to generosity, especially if you are inadequately acquainted with varying views on the rightful place of public funding.

Do you at least occasionally enjoy witnessing and/or participating in enlightening dialogues, and perhaps also reading about them?

You may have recently identified interesting dialogues on the following subjects:

How do you usually think about usefulness in relation to the arts, particularly in terms of improved understandings?

What do you understand about popularity and unpopularity?

Perhaps you associate civility with enlightened statecraft rather than enlightened activism.

Providing the public with accurate and timely information is particularly important when money has changed hands for corrupt purposes.  Enlightened statecraft is never corrupt.

Informing voters about potentially dishonest practices within political organisations is a form of campaigning in itself, even when election campaigns are not happening.

Informing the public of the truth about elections is an especially important form of philanthropic enlightenment and political engagement.

You may be aware that, as well as being the official Spirit of Enlightenment, Twaklin is the chief executive officer of the International Training Centre for the Harmonious Interplay of Beauty, Understanding and Magnificence.

What do you know about the centre and its acronym?

Perhaps you are an enlightened being yourself.  If so, you will know that the Constitution of Australia does nothing to maintain standards of civility or encourage creativity.

The Spirit of Enlightenment is well aware that far too many people are lazy and selfish, even when offered the chance to improve themselves through the International Training Centre for the Harmonious Interplay of Beauty, Understanding and Magnificence.

Far too many people, in her view, enable cruelty to continue, in various parts of the world, by failing to hold abusers to account.

How imaginative is your approach to creativity and problem-solving pursuits, especially if you are seeking to improve politics, inventiveness and investments in Australia?

Who and what is the Australian Constitution meant to serve, and how well or badly has it been doing so?
